Welcome Aboard !!!

April 23, 2023....well, the trip started OK. We left the house around 7:30 AM and got to the airport in plenty of time. Spent a couple of hours in the Sky Club and then met Bunny and John for a drink before our flight left for Paris. I coukd tell Oliver wasn't feeling his best but we were in business class so.pretty comfortable. Arrived in Paris at about 6AM and his back was killing him! We walked and walked until he couldn't walk any more and then spent 45 minutes trying to get a wheelchair. Finally did and they took us right to our transportation. At the hotel, Bunny and John's room was ready but ours wasn't. We all rested in their room until ours was ready, and then we all showered and went out for a walk. Took the required Eiffel Tower puctures and then went for lunch. Oliver wouldn't eat or drink or talk. By the time we got back to the hotel, he was disoriented and agitated. I won't go into too many details but eventually we had to call an ambulance and off we went to Hospital Ambroise Pare. He spent 3 nights in the ER observation area and then was transferred to a regular room. For the first several days I went back to the hotel to sleep but eventually had them bring a bed into his room and I stayed with him 24/7. Bunny and John went on with the cruise and had a great time. They doctors felt he shouldn't fly commercial so I spent a few days arranging an air ambulance flight home. Not easy, as they wanted wire transfer up front and of course I couldn't do that, since I was in France!  Thanks to my wonderful banker, her boss put me in touch with another bank customer who is CEO of an air ambulance company and he brought us home in faith...and the word of his banker that we were good for it! So off we went on our Lear jet with our 2 pilots, nurse and respiratory therapist. Paris to Iceland to Newfoundland to Savannah! Home for 4 days then off to Dawsonville, GA to close on our new house. Oliver us much better now and tomorrow the movers come to start loading us up!! Stay tuned for updates on the new house.
